DOUGLAS DOLFINS SWIM TEAM
Swimmers of the Month (and Year)

Swimmer of the Month is our Newsletter feature recognizing the outstanding efforts and achievements of one (or sometimes more) of our swimmers.  We are proud of ALL our Dolfins!  The full scoop on each of our past swimmers of the month can be found in the Newsletter Back Issues.  Also listed below are the special award winners from our annual Awards Banquets.

CURRENT SWIMMER(S) OF THE MONTH

Our May Swimmers of the Month are:

Sarah Hyatt started swimming 5 months ago and has improved so much, not least by attending every practice since she started! Sarah has conquered deep water and high blocks (like at Tahoe last weekend) and is a go-getter, ready to try anything her coach asks. Her favorite stroke is freestyle, but learning breaststroke and butterfly in White Group may change her mind. She is very cheerful, supports her teammates, and is a pleasure to coach.
Emily Dack has almost perfect attendance and has made it her goal to have all four strokes legal. She achieved this at the Tahoe meet when she swam her first 100 IM with no DQs! Emily is a dedicated White Group member who attends all of our swim meets.
Dane Lutz is a hard worker and good listener with a great attitude. He attends consistently and works overtime to improve his strokes. Dane did very well at his first swim meet in Tahoe, and looks forward to the next competition. Dane joined the Dolfins just 2 months ago and is progressing rapidly.
Haley Von Schottenstein had outstanding performances and High School Regionals and State Championships. She was very focused and achieved her first Sectional Time standard. Haley is a great role model for all Dolfins and is someone to watch during her next two years of High School.
Congratulations Sarah, Emily, Dane, and Haley! Keep up the great work!

LAST SWIMMER(S) OF THE MONTH

Our April Swimmers of the Month are:
Jessie Jin has had great attendance at practices, and good listening skills, following coach’s directions like a dream. Jessie always tries hard and puts a lot of effort into her performance at practice.
Kaela Forvilly was one of the few Red Group swimmers at the Reno meet, and she had 100% improvement. Kaela also has excellent practice attendance, works super hard, never complains, and is a pleasure to work with.
Michelle Forman can be found swimming with Coach Kat 3 days per week at 5:30 am, and she always swims with a great attitude. She is a pleasure to work with and has great potential. Michelle’s hard work showed in her outstanding performance at the Reno meet, where she had 100% improvement.
Congratulations Jessie, Kaela, and Michelle! Keep up the great work!
