Member Dues

If you wish to pay higher monthly dues in lieu of mandatory fundraising, please contact the Billing Coordinator (see below) ASAP.  Except at the beginning of each calendar year, changes may not take effect until the NEXT calendar year.  NOTE: Fundraising donations to DDST are usually 100% tax-deductible, whereas dues are not.

NOTE: you must contact the billing coordinator (see below) IN ADVANCE to avoid being billed for dues during absences from the team. ALSO NOTE that IF there is a waiting list for your swimmer's group AND dues are NOT paid during absences, your swimmer may be placed on the waiting list to return to the team.

MONTHLY DUES, PER SWIMMER
(effective April, 2009)

Pre-competition           $45.00

White Dolfins              $55.00

Red Dolfins                 $60.00

Blue Dolfins                $70.00

Pre-Senior Dolfins**   $80.00

**High School swimmers also practicing with the Dolfins pay $55.00 dues during 2010 season (March-May). Non-High-School Senior dues reduced to $80.00 during same period.

There is a discount of 10% on the second Swimmer, and a 25% discount on the third and fourth Swimmers, in a family. Additional swimmers in a family beyond 4 are free. The highest practice group shall be the first swimmer and the second highest practice group shall be the second swimmer and so on (i.e. If one Senior and one Blue, the Senior is swimmer 1 and the Blue is swimmer 2.) If there are three or more swimmers and 2 are in the same higher group they will take up consecutively position down (i.e. 2 Senior and 1 White: 1 Senior will be swimmer 1 and 1 Senior would be swimmer 2 and the White swimmer would be swimmer 3 OR 1 Senior 2 Blue and 1 Red: the Senior would be swimmer 1, 1 Blue would be swimmer 2, 1 Blue would be Swimmer 3 and the Red would be Swimmer 4.)

ANNUAL FAMILY MEET MANAGEMENT OBLIGATION

Yearly meet work required, minimum per family:    30 hours

            OR for each hour under 30 not worked           $10.00

Participation of all DDST families with competition-level swimmers is absolutely necessary to host competitions (3 or 4 meets per year) that are successful for the athletes and for the Team. Working on-deck during meets is much more valuable to the Team than the $10/hour charged for hours less than 30 per year. Find out how YOU can work at home swim meets! The $15 is billed to each member family prior to each meet to cover costs of food and supplies.

ANNUAL USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION

Per Swimmer               $55.00

These USA Swimming fees are collected by the Team each fall for existing swimmers.  New swimmers must obtain an athlete registration form from a Coach, and mail the fees and completed form themselves.  To be eligible to practice with DDST, and to compete in meets, every swimmer MUST register with USA/Pacific Swimming.  Registration includes insurance, which covers the swimmer while at meets and at practice.

MORE ABOUT DUES

Monthly dues go directly to cover a portion of coaches’ salaries and pool use fees. The DDST Team Handbook provides, in part, that dues are charged monthly and are payable in full by the 10th of the month. Dues become delinquent after the 15th of the month. Finance charges are $5.00 per child on dues received after the 15th, and $30.00 per returned check. If dues are delinquent 30 days or more (past the 15th of the next month), the affected swimmer(s) will not be allowed to practice or compete with DDST until all current and delinquent dues have been paid.

To meet the financial obligations of the team, the above provisions must be enforced unless you have made other arrangements with the Board of Directors. If you are behind or having trouble making dues payments, please contact our Billing Coordinator, Joe Stubnar, or a Board member regarding possible payment arrangements or financial assistance, to avoid having your swimmer(s) barred from practices.
